Who is eligible to purchase from Proud Villager?
If you are a Big / Small Family / Individual / Restaurant / Cafe / Hospital or an Educational Institute with a canteen and want to purchase high quality extra virgin oils, you can buy on advance order up to 100 litres directly.Â
What makes your products cost more as compared to other brands?
For Ghee we have our owned dairy farm in Sirsa, Haryana. So, the source of Ghee. i.e. Milk is our own, and so are the milk products. We do not make products and do not keep stock in shelfs, we make products freshly, in small batches. For best quality oils, major reason is the seed quality, we pay a lot more for premium seeds, to selected farmers, direct. And then grade them. Grading removes spoiled seeds and lighter seeds with poor oil content. It makes the oil quality better, makes it more nutrient dense and also results in low acidity which means oils are fresher for longer periods of time. The other reason is the extraction process. There are four qualities of oils available in the market.
1. Expeller Pressed / Refined
2. Iron Rotary / Iron Ghani
3. Cold Pressed
4. Wood Pressed ( Extra Virgin)
Most of the oils available in the market is a ratio of 1,2 and 3.We do not extract expeller pressed or rotary pressed oils. If you want to buy those you can probably get them elsewhere at much cheaper prices. Only contact us if you are interested in either Premium Cold Pressed or Single Wood Pressed Oils. There’s no ratio, both oils are available separately at their own prices.
What is the difference between Cold-Press and Wood-Press Machines?
A cold pressed machine is made of stainless steel, and oil remains in contact with it only for a few seconds and because of this reason oil is extracted at room temperature. There’s no heating involved.A wood pressed machine is the traditional method of oil extraction, it’s a very slow and arduous process. For example a wood pressed machine running for 8 hours would only produce 18-22 litres of oil. Wood Pressed Oils cost more than their Cold Pressed counterparts because of increased cost of labour, electricity, wear tear and low output.
For extraction of oils, what kind of seeds do you use?
Our partner manufacturer is located in Rajasthan. Which is a very famous location for excellent seed quality. Mustard seeds (black and yellow), Peanuts and Sesame seeds are locally grown. Being in an area, where all of the crop is naturally rainfed, hence no pesticides at all. Coconuts are sourced from South India, which are naturally sundried and sulphur free.
All seeds which are used in our extracted oils are whole (they cost 1.25x expensive , than split ones [Tukda]) and the quality is premium. Seeds are then cleaned and graded, then the oil extraction process begins.
